Purchasing Specialist

About the role This position is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, including purchase order creation, supplier coordination, RFQ processing, and delivery tracking. The Buyer will manage assigned commodities and ensure all purchasing activities align with program schedules and compliance requirements in a high-volume aerospace manufacturing environment. Collins Aerospace operates in a highly regulated aerospace and defense environment, requiring strong attention to detail, process adherence, and supplier accountability. Key Responsibilities Manage purchase orders from supplier selection through closeout Issue RFQs, analyze supplier quotes, and negotiate pricing Track and monitor open orders and supplier delivery performance Communicate updates and delays to internal program and operations teams Support supplier onboarding in collaboration with engineering and quality teams Maintain accurate procurement documentation and compliance records Conduct price analysis and support cost-saving initiatives Participate in supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement efforts Manage multiple programs and requisition lines simultaneously Build and maintain strong supplier relationships Required Qualifications 3+ years of purchasing/buying experience Strong Excel skills (data tracking, reporting, large datasets) Experience working in aerospace, defense, or other regulated industry Experience managing RFQs, purchase orders, and supplier negotiations US Citizen or Green Card holder (must be able to work onsite) Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Strong organizational and multitasking skills Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) SAP experience strongly preferred Experience supporting aerospace or DoD-related programs Knowledge of procurement KPIs (OTD, cost savings, supplier performance) Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams Familiarity with supply chain compliance and procurement standards Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, reporting dashboards) Job Disclaimer Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, short-term disability insurance, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
