Seeking a skilled professional with previous experience in radiation therapy and a patient-focused mindset. This opportunity is a contract position requiring adaptability and a strong commitment to best practices within a healthcare environment.
Qualifications:
Valid certification and registration as a Radiation Therapist (ARRT). Demonstrated proficiency with radiation therapy equipment and safety protocols. Previous experience in administering radiation treatments to oncology patients. Knowledge of oncologic pathology and radiation treatment planning. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and team members. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Schedule/Hours:
Assignment is contract-based with expected full-time hours. May require some flexibility for daytime shifts, based on patient scheduling and department needs.
Responsibilities:
Accurately administer prescribed doses of radiation under physician direction. Perform patient positioning, equipment setup, and verification protocols. Provide clear explanations and compassionate support to patients throughout their course of treatment. Maintain precise treatment records and document delivery parameters. Collaborate with the treatment planning team, including dosimetrists and physicists, to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Adhere strictly to all safety and infection control procedures within the therapy suite. Monitor patients for treatment side effects and report changes promptly to supervising clinicians.
