Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray)

PRN Schedule:
PRN role with flexible scheduling. The clinic is open Monday-Friday from 7:30AM to 4:00 PM, and candidates can work shifts within these hours based on their availability. Who is SXR Health? SXR Health (also known as Southeast X-Ray) is a healthcare provider specializing in Veterans' medical disability examinations across 140 locations in 39 states. Position Summary We are seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional care while supporting our mission to serve Veterans and patients. Job Responsibilities The following summary of major job functions is intended solely as a guide and may be modified as operational needs require. Perform X-ray procedures in accordance with established protocols and radiation safety guidelines Adhere to ALARA principles, ensuring patient safety at all times Operate and maintain X-ray equipment appropriately and report equipment issues promptly Position patients correctly and explain procedures to minimize anxiety Evaluate images for technical quality and completeness Enter, validate, and confirm patient demographics and ordered exams Maintain accurate records, logs, and required monthly reports Follow infection control, safety, and cleanliness standards Perform additional duties and projects as assigned to support operational needs and business continuity. Position Requirements Graduate of an accredited radiology program and credentialed and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). State-issued X-ray license, active and in good standing, as required. Minimum of one (1) year of X-ray experience preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers required within 30 days of hire. Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and operational efficiency. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with patients, service members, providers, and cross-functional healthcare teams. Proficiency in data entry, typing, and medical terminology, with working knowledge of standard clinical and office equipment and systems. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this position, the Technologist is required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time. The role requires frequent use of hands and fingers to position patients, operate imaging equipment, handle accessories, and enter data into computer systems. Reaching with hands and arms, pushing, pulling, and performing repetitive upper-body motions are essential functions of the job. The technologist must be able to assist patients with positioning and mobility, which may include stooping, kneeling, bending, balancing, and climbing stairs. The position requires the ability to occasionally lift, move, or support patients and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more, with or without assistance. The role also requires prolonged interaction with computer monitors, imaging systems, and electronic medical records. Visual acuity is necessary to assess image quality, ensure proper positioning, and maintain patient safety.
