Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care in a vibrant, patient-focused environment. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to promote oral health, perform thorough dental cleanings, and educate patients on maintaining healthy smiles. Duties and job requirements include:
Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, polishing, sealants and fluoride treatments to prevent dental disease. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor personalized treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and the importance of regular dental visits to promote lifelong oral health. Take digital dental radiographs and utilize iTero digital scanning technology while ensuring proper infection control and aseptic techniques are maintained throughout all procedures. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate recordkeeping in compliance with HIPAA regulations using Eaglesoft. Maintain a clean, organized work environment by following strict infection control protocols, including sterilization of instruments and proper disposal of biohazard materials. Monitor patient vital signs and recognize signs of medical emergencies or complications during treatment sessions. Hold a valid West Virginia license as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting. Other license requirements include West Virginia general supervision, dental anesthesia and nitrous oxide monitoring. Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft for charting, scheduling, and record management. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly about treatment plans. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality. Must be proficient or ready to learn the principles of Invisalign treatment and the hygienist's role in the whole-team approach to delivering orthodontic care.Pay:
