Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse OR Circulator, where your expertise will directly impact patient care during surgical procedures and complex medical interventions. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing support, ensure sterile techniques, and coordinate care across various clinical settings. Your dedication will help facilitate smooth operations in the operating room, outpatient clinics, and inpatient units, contributing to positive patient outcomes and a high standard of safety. Responsibilities Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary equipment, supplies, and sterile fields are ready for surgical procedures. Assist surgeons during operations by providing optimal exposure, handling instruments, and maintaining aseptic technique throughout the procedure. Monitor patient vital signs and assess their condition continuously during surgery or treatment, responding swiftly to any changes or complications. Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following strict protocols and documentation standards. Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesiologists, physicians, and other nursing staff to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans. Provide post-operative or post-treatment care instructions and support discharge planning to ensure safe transitions from hospital or outpatient settings. Skills Proven experience working in surgical environments such as OR (Operating Room), PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit), or ambulatory surgery centers. Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile processing, and infection control protocols. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation. Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, medication administration including injections and IV insertions. Experience with specialized procedures such as catheterization, suturing, dialysis access management, or gastrostomy tube care is highly desirable. Ability to perform physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations confidently while maintaining patient safety standards. Excellent communication skills for effective triage assessments and collaboration with healthcare teams across diverse clinical settings including emergency medicine, critical care units (ICU), geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and long-term care facilities.
