- Full-time The Restoration Technician is responsible for performing water‑damage mitigation and full interior restoration following leaks, floods, or structural failures.
This role requires the ability to work independently on repairs including sheetrock installation and finishing, painting, flooring replacement, and trim/baseboard work , ensuring all restored areas meet company quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Water Mitigation & Structural Drying Perform initial inspections, moisture readings, and documentation of affected areas.
Set up, monitor, and remove drying equipment such as air movers, dehumidifiers, and HEPA units. Identify water migration and ensure proper containment and stabilization. Communicate progress and findings to management and customers. Independent Sheetrock & Wall Restoration Remove damaged drywall and prepare framing for repairs. Install new sheetrock with proper fastening and alignment. Tape, float, and apply multiple coats of joint compound to achieve a smooth finish. Sand, feather, and blend repairs seamlessly into existing surfaces. Match and apply wall texture (orange peel, knockdown, smooth, etc.). Independent Painting & Finishing Prime repaired surfaces for proper adhesion and uniform coverage. Perform color‑matched painting to blend repairs with surrounding areas. Complete full‑wall or full‑room repaints when required for uniformity. Maintain clean lines, proper coverage, and a professional finish. Independent Flooring & Trim Work Remove damaged flooring materials (vinyl, laminate, tile, etc.) as needed. Install new flooring with proper layout, cuts, transitions, and alignment. Remove and replace baseboards, casing, and trim without damaging surrounding finishes. Cut, fit, caulk, and finish trim work to match existing profiles. Prepare surfaces and complete all finishing steps to a clean, professional standard. General Responsibilities Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Follow company safety procedures and PPE requirements. Complete job notes, photos, and documentation in company software. (Detailed) Provide excellent customer service and represent Local Hero Home Services professionally. Assist with demolition, light carpentry, and other restoration tasks as needed. Qualifications Experience in restoration, construction, or remodeling required. Must be able to independently perform sheetrock, painting, flooring, and trim work. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in attics, crawlspaces, and confined areas. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Strong communication and customer‑service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Work Environment Residential and commercial job sites. Indoor/outdoor work with occasional after‑hours or emergency response. Use of ladders, power tools, and restoration equipment.
