Retail Team Member - Sullivan Store

Position Summary The Retail Team Member at Wabash Valley Goodwill plays a crucial role in furthering our mission by providing exceptional service to both our customers and donors. This position will assist customers in finding products, processing transactions with integrity, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. Additionally, you will help process donations, ensuring that they are sorted and displayed effectively to maximize sales. You will work closely with the rest of the team to uphold our values and create a positive shopping experience for our customers. Responsibilities Understand and uphold the mission and core values in all interactions with customers, donors, and team members, and can speak of the Mission to others. Maintain excellent attendance, is punctual, and is a dependable team member. Remain productive and actively engaged in all job duties while clocked in. Refrain from creating or participating in gossip or negative speech about team members, customers, donors, or any persons in the workplace, and work to resolve issues that arise with the individuals involved. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet sales goals and improve store operations. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance job skills and knowledge. Help maintain a safe and secure work environment by following safety guidelines and reporting any safety hazards. Maintain proper security and safety of the building and merchandise. Provide excellent customer and donor service, assisting in finding products, accepting donations, and answering questions. Act courteously and with interest in each shopper, customer, and donor encounter. Greet every customer swiftly upon entering the building, make eye contact, and smile. Greet every donor at the start of the interaction and thank them at the end. Say a 'Thanks' to each customer when they leave the store, even if they did not make a purchase. Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, including restocking shelves, pulling older products, and ensuring products are properly displayed. Operate cash registers with integrity and handle cash transactions accurately. Assist with donation processing, including sorting, hanging, tagging, and pricing items. Assist with store opening and closing procedures, including setting up and cleaning the store. Accept changes that may come to the working environment or task with a positive and understanding attitude, knowing that any concerns or comments with the change must be respectful and come with solutions to the issues. Perform other duties as assigned to support the retail team and store operations. Candidate requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, or the desire to obtain a High School Diploma through the Excel Center of West Central Indiana. One to three months related retail experience and/or training preferred but not required. Supervisory Responsibilities ??The associate in this position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.? Weekend and evening availability a must.
