Full Job Description Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a dedicated safety role within construction, heavy civil, or similar industry - OR -Recent graduate with a safety-related degree, Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP) designation, and relevant internship or field experience Completion of OSHA 30-hour Construction Training

(or equivalent) or ability to obtain immediately upon hire Working knowledge of
OSHA 1926
standards and construction safety practices Ability to conduct jobsite safety audits, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions Experience with accident/incident investigations, including determining root cause and corrective actions Ability to document and maintain accurate safety records, including inspections, incidents, corrective actions, and training documentation Ability to lead toolbox talks, field safety meetings, and provide real-time coaching Authority and willingness to stop work when unsafe conditions are identified and escalate as needed Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly between job sites Ability to work a consistent 45-50 hour workweek, including travel between job sites. Flexibility for early mornings or longer days may be required. Weekend and holiday work is not typical, but may occur if incident response is needed. Ability to work in physically demanding field environments, including uneven terrain, climbing on/off equipment, accessing excavations, and working in varying weather conditions Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of learning company systems (safety platforms, telematics, reporting tools) Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with field personnel and leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification or ability to obtain Experience in heavy civil, excavation, trucking, and earthwork operations Working knowledge of
DOT/FMCSA
regulations Experience with safety training delivery, documentation, and compliance reporting Exposure to or willingness to learn MSHA requirements and environments

Ability to build rapport and credibility in the field, not just enforce policy Promote a proactive safety culture where employees feel comfortable speaking up, asking questions, and stopping work when needed Maintain high morale by balancing accountability with respect and professionalism Ability to hold accountability without damaging relationships or morale Lead by example through consistent field presence, engagement, and follow-through Communicate expectations clearly while adapting approach to different personalities and crews Ability to recognize trends, identify recurring risks, and support continuous improvement efforts Reinforce that safety is about protecting people and the operation, not just compliance
