Description Job Title Commercial Lines Account Manager Location Cherry Hill, New Jersey Work Setting Fully onsite. This is not a hybrid or remote role. Employment Type Full-time direct-hire employee role Compensation $85,000 to $100,000 base salary depending on experience Schedule Standard weekday insurance agency schedule. Travel No regular travel requirements. This is an office-based role. About the Opportunity We are hiring for an insurance agency serving South Jersey and the greater Philadelphia market. The agency is established, owner-led, and relationship-driven, with a strong reputation in commercial and personal lines. Its commercial work includes small to mid-size accounts with strong concentration in contractors, workers compensation, and landlord or investment property risks. The agency markets business through multiple carriers and positions itself as a tailored, service-oriented brokerage rather than a high-volume call-center environment. Position Overview This opening exists because the agency needs an experienced replacement tied to an approximately $3 million commercial book of business. The person hired will step into a meaningful working seat and will be expected to independently manage renewals, endorsements, carrier marketing, inbound account activity, and day-to-day client needs with minimal hand-holding. This is a strong fit for someone who wants real responsibility, close access to decision-making, and a long-term home inside a boutique agency. Key Responsibilities Commercial Book Management Manage an approximately $3 million commercial book of business Handle renewals, endorsements, certificates, service requests, and day-to-day client issues Maintain organized follow-through and strong service responsiveness across open account activity Carrier Marketing and Coverage Placement Market accounts to multiple insurance carriers Review appetite, pricing, and coverage fit across carriers Support contractor, workers compensation, landlord, and other generalist commercial exposures New Business and Cross-Selling Answer inbound new business calls Help convert inbound opportunities into placed accounts Identify cross-sell opportunities once established in the role and familiar with the client base Client and Agency Collaboration Work closely with agency leadership in a highly visible owner-led environment Communicate directly with clients, carriers, and internal staff Operate effectively in a small-team setting where people are expected to cover the full scope of account-management work Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Required Qualifications At least 5 to 7 years of commercial lines account-management experience Experience independently managing commercial accounts, not just supporting a senior account manager Experience marketing accounts to multiple carriers Strong experience with contractor and workers compensation business Active New Jersey Property and Casualty license Strong client communication and account judgment Ability and willingness to work onsite in Cherry Hill full time Residence within a realistic daily commute or clear willingness to relocate for a fully onsite role Preferred Qualifications Independent-agency background Small to mid-size generalist commercial-book experience Landlord or investment-property exposure EZLynx experience Cross-selling or account-rounding instincts Long tenure in prior roles showing retention and stability Background, Clearance, or Eligibility Requirements New Jersey Property and Casualty license required No clearance requirement No degree requirement Ideal Candidate Profile A seasoned commercial-lines professional who can truly own a book Someone comfortable in a boutique, owner-led agency with high visibility A practical, relationship-driven operator who values responsiveness and follow-through A candidate who prefers an in-office environment and does not need hybrid flexibility to stay engaged A person who can balance service execution with sound commercial judgment around remarketing and cross-selling About The Misch Group Stone Hendricks Group is a direct-hire search firm that brings together years of experience and a diverse range of talent to connect businesses with exceptional job candidates.
