Position:
Supervisor of Crisis Services The Supervisor of Crisis Services ensures victims receiving crisis services, via phone, online, or in person, are provided with superior trauma-informed services from an advocate who is professional, trained, culturally competent, empathetic, compassionate, and resourceful.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide ongoing guidance, support, development, and direction to assigned staff and interns and appropriately intervene, provide support, or communicate concerns when issues or deficiencies involving other staff are identified. Provide guidance and support to staff regarding safety, well-being, and the physical or psychological impact of crisis-response work. Contribute to staff engagement and retention by identifying and implementing strategies to reduce staff burnout and increase morale. Empower staff/interns to explore solutions to problems. Monitor and address environmental, safety, cleanliness, and service concerns to maintain a safe, professional, accessible, and trauma-informed environment for clients and staff. Coordinate daily staffing, schedules, and coverage across assigned teams and office locations to ensure victim needs are met and workloads are appropriately distributed. Provide direct service and maintain a case load of ongoing clients as needed. Maintain a working knowledge of all available resources that would benefit clients and seek out new referral pathways to enhance services for clients receiving victim advocacy services. Regularly review case files for presence, clarity, quality, continuity, and completeness and provide timely feedback to staff. Ensure consistent implementation of, and hold staff accountable to, agency policies, procedures, documentation standards, and expectations for quality services. Provide direct reports with formal performance evaluations and ongoing informal feedback to address job performance and support. achievement of professional development goals. Contribute to the achievement of agency goals by coaching and training staff, empowering them to identify and implement solutions, and holding them accountable for results. Identify and communicate service trends, gaps, barriers, and emerging needs, and advocate for the staff resources, training, equipment, and policy or procedure changes necessary to address them. Develop, maintain, and foster relationships with stakeholders. Assist with the hiring, onboarding, and termination of direct reports, and support the onboarding of new staff. Assist peers in covering 24/7 on call supervisory responsibilities and provide debriefing support. Communicate high-profile cases and significant personnel, safety, or service. concerns to supervisor in a timely manner. Ensure direct reports are fulfilling their job descriptions, assigned tasks and/or projects. Engage in all required staff meetings & trainings. Participate as a member of the Summit County Crisis Response Team when responding on scene.
Requirements:
Victim Assistance Program is committed to equipping our employees with the tools for success. We ask that you bring the following qualifications: A bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred) 1.5 years of Social Services experience required. 1 year of Supervisory experience preferred. Must reside within 25 miles of VAP's main office Ability to pass a state and federal background check throughout employment A valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation throughout employment The skills to oversee human resource and financial management matters Demonstrate a high level of emotional maturity and resilience in handling sensitive and challenging situations with compassion and professionalism Exhibit strong leadership qualities by taking initiative, engaging in problem solving, and practicing critical thinking Exhibit professional boundaries with staff, other professionals & clients
