Job Description
Orthopedic Solutions is a physician-owned orthopedic and podiatric surgery practice in Edmond, Oklahoma. We are looking for an experienced Insurance & Patient Accounts Specialist to join our team. This is not a training position. This position carries real ownership and will be responsible for understanding our patients' insurance and their accounts. You should be comfortable verifying benefits, reading an EOB, and explaining a balance to a patient on day one. Insurance & Patient Accounts Verify insurance benefits and eligibility ahead of patient appointments Field and resolve patient billing questions with ability to explain EOBs, balances, deductibles, and payment options clearly and accurately Collect copays and outstanding balances Manage reconciliation of patient payments and refunds Maintain payer portal access Respond to insurance audit requests Partner with our external billing company to resolve claim issues Claim submission and prior authorizations are handled by our external billing partner. Front Office Serve as the first point of contact for patients, in person and by phone. Assist patients with digital check-in Schedule patient appointments Process incoming referrals Manage medical record requests and associated invoices
What We're Looking For Required:
2+ years in a medical office with direct insurance verification responsibility Demonstrated ability to read an EOB and explain a patient balance without escalating Experience collecting patient payments and handling billing calls Comfortable working independently in a small office without layers of supportPreferred:
Orthopedic, surgical, podiatry, or specialty practice experience Athena EMR experience Workers' compensation experience Experience with contract programs such as Connect Benefit and ZERO Health Schedule Monday-Thursday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
