Job Description

Posting Details The New Mexico Tourism Department staff strives to promote New Mexico as the top destination for venturesome travelers, build the New Mexico True brand, unify and lead industry partners and inspire in-state advocacy and pride. The marketing team is responsible for the flagship New Mexico True brand, which leads the department's domestic advertising campaign and all of its cooperative advertising executions. To lead the tourism and hospitality industry of the state, the staff also maintains newmexico.org/industry as a resource for news, updates, research and program information. Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two (2) weeks of posting closure. Why does the job exist? We need a skilled graphic designer and brand steward to oversee the management, organization, and compliance of the flagship New Mexico True brand. A big part of our identity is fostered by a strong visual presence. We're looking for a communication-forward team-player candidate who has an understanding of how marketing campaigns work in order to support a strong and ever-expanding brand identity for our core team and for all of our partners. How does it get done? The Brand Creative Coordinator creates visual aspects of marketing materials, websites and other media for the primary New Mexico True brand, as well as the brand identities of other programs of the department, such as New Mexico True Certified, Route 66 Centennial, and/or Keep New Mexico True. Mostly, this will call for this employee to work within agreed-upon brand standards, though sometimes bespoke design work for sub-brands and other projects will be requested. This position will collaborate with in-house managers of social media, research, and communications to create designs for campaigns and initiatives. The person who fills this role will work in conjunction with our agency of record as design lead on non-campaign projects and creative consultant/collaborator on campaign projects. The ideal candidate will also manage creative approvals and maintain brand compliance from our Cooperative Marketing and Advertising program, as well as related grant programs that must adhere to New Mexico True brand standards. Adherence to
