Mascot Handler Role Summary The Toledo Mud Hens and Toledo Walleye are seeking energetic, dependable, and fan-focused individuals to join our team as a part-time Mascot Handler. This role is essential in supporting our mascots, Muddy, Muddonna, Spike and CatTrick, while helping create memorable experiences that build lifelong fans. As a Mascot Handler, you will serve as the mascot's primary support partner, ensuring safe, engaging, and impactful interactions with fans at games, community appearances, private events, and promotional functions. Essential Responsibilities Assist mascot performers at Toledo Walleye and Mud Hens games, community events, private functions, and special appearances. Serve as the primary liaison between the mascot, fans, staff, security personnel, and event partners. Create a fun, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere that enhances the fan experience for guests of all ages. Support the development and execution of mascot-related content including skits, social media projects, promotional videos, and in-game entertainment features. Qualifications & Experience Experience working in sports, entertainment, event operations, customer service, or live productions. Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, high energy environments. Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, punctuality, and accountability. Experience engaging with diverse audiences and creating positive guest experiences. Skills & Competencies Communicate clearly and professionally on behalf of the mascot while maintaining character integrity and organizational standards. Identifying hazards, obstacles, and crowd-related concerns before they impact an appearance. Maintain mascot costumes, props, and related equipment to ensure professional presentation and functionality. Working Environment Occasionally lifting promotional items and props needed, weighing up to 20 pounds. Monitor surroundings and proactively identify potential safety concerns, crowd issues, and environmental hazards.
