Job Description
U.S.-Based | Remote | Approximately 25% Travel Six-Figure Base Salary + Performance-Based Commission MetalCraft Marine is looking for a strong Senior Business Development Manager - U.S. Government & Defense to help grow our business in the United States. This is a hands-on business development role. We are looking for a professional who wants to take ownership of opportunities and stay involved from the early customer discussions through proposal, negotiation and award. That means building relationships, understanding the customer's mission, asking the right questions, bringing together the right internal resources and helping develop a solution that meets the customer's needs. We need a team member who can sell, who values long-term customer relationships and who is comfortable taking responsibility for moving business forward. The Opportunity MetalCraft designs and builds high-performance welded-aluminum vessels for demanding government, defense, security, public-safety and commercial applications. There is significant opportunity to grow our U.S. business, and this role will have a direct part in that growth. You will have a high degree of autonomy and will work directly with customers while having access to engineering, estimating, operations and senior leadership when needed. We do not expect you to be a naval architect. We do expect enough technical understanding to have a credible conversation with a customer, understand the key requirements, develop the initial package and know when to bring additional technical expertise into the discussion. If you can deliver results and help us grow, there will be plenty of opportunity to take on more responsibility and help shape where we go next. What You Will Be Responsible For Developing strong, long-term relationships with U.S. government, defense and related customers and industry partners. Understanding customer missions, operational requirements, budgets, timing and procurement environments. Helping translate customer needs into practical vessel solutions. Taking ownership of opportunities from initial engagement through proposal, negotiation and contract award. Coordinating engineering, estimating, operations and other internal resources needed to support a pursuit. Preparing and managing quotations, RFIs, RFQs, RFPs and related proposal activity. Producing professional, accurate and commercially responsible proposals. Staying engaged, following up and keeping opportunities moving. Developing new customer relationships while continuing to support and grow existing accounts. Representing MetalCraft professionally in customer meetings, vessel demonstrations, industry events and other business-development activities. Who We Are Looking For We are interested in both experienced industry professionals and high-potential candidates who have had the right exposure and are ready for more responsibility. You may have years of experience selling vessels, systems or other complex products into government or defense markets. You may also be earlier in your career but have already demonstrated strong customer skills, initiative, an ability to learn quickly and a track record of getting results. Years of experience alone will not determine the right fit. We care about what you have learned, what you have accomplished and what you are capable of doing next.
