Role description:
The Sector Portfolio Leader Water will support the Commercial Operations Sector Director Water by building awareness and visibility of Arcadis, acting as a business leader in the market for the Sector Portfolio of clients and projects in Northern Ohio and Michigan. This role will support Account Managers within the Portfolio to strengthen their client relationships and increase Net Order Intake (NOI) and Net Revenue (NR). This role will also coordinate with Client Portfolio Managers, to help them to execute the Sector/Portfolio Strategy.Role accountabilities:
In this role, you will support the Commercial Operations Sector Director Water in building and driving the overall Portfolio strategy, ensuring that our approach remains innovative and aligned with organizational objectives. You will also work closely with Client Portfolio Managers to execute sector strategies. Your responsibilities will include assisting both Client Portfolio Managers and Account Managers in the preparation and submission of annual client business plans, ensuring that our strategic goals are consistently met. Furthermore, you will play a key part in strengthening Arcadis' brand presence in the market by attending industry events and conferences and actively helping to position Arcadis as a thought leader within client portfolios. Supporting Account Managers with stakeholder management for our most strategically important clients will also be a critical aspect of your role, as you help reinforce and grow these vital relationships. In addition, you will ensure that the Portfolio's financial performance aligns with established targets, working collaboratively to pursue new commercial models with clients where appropriate. You'll support Client Portfolio Managers and Account Leaders in achieving financial objectives such as NOI, NR, cash, and margin, making sure these are in line with sector goals and that the business pipeline is managed accurately and efficiently. Finally, you will act as a mentor and guide for Client Portfolio Managers and Account Leaders, providing direction on portfolio strategy and people management. You will also support their professional development by helping to build account management capabilities and identifying potential career pathway opportunities within Arcadis.Qualifications & Experience:
- Extensive leadership experience in the Water Sector with clear accountability for sales growth, client portfolio performance and pricing strategy across strategic client portfolios.
- Strong financial acumen for pricing services, margin optimization and risk management, including experience shaping commercial models that balance competitiveness and profitability.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for high-level client engagement, with the ability to represent Arcadis credibly with senior client and partner stakeholders.
- Exceptional relationship building, combining sector expertise with strong client engagement and stakeholder management, inspiring high performing teams and fostering collaboration to achieve client goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in water / wastewater / stormwater project management, design management, business operations, or related.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
