Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Detailer/Plan Checker to join our dynamic design team. This pivotal role involves overseeing the detailed review and validation of construction plans, ensuring compliance with project standards, codes, and specifications. As a Lead Detailer/Plan Checker, you will lead a team of detailers and coordinate closely with salesmen, engineers and contractors to deliver precise, high-quality drawings and schematics that drive successful project execution. Your expertise in CAD software, system design, and drafting will be instrumental in maintaining accuracy and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. Being organized and having a high degree of attention to detail is key to success. Duties Lead the review and verification of detailed construction drawings, schematics, and system designs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements. Supervise and mentor a team of detailers, assigning tasks to ensure timely delivery of high-quality plans. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to resolve design conflicts and incorporate necessary modifications. Utilize advanced CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Proge Cad, Excel, to develop detailed models and drawings. Utilize other Microsoft products and Google. We use Gmail. Conduct plan checks for mechanical design, interior design elements, 2D animation layouts, graphic design components, and construction schematics. Ensure all plans adhere to industry standards, building codes, safety regulations, and client specifications. Maintain organized documentation of revisions, annotations, and project records for easy access and review. Requirements Proven experience in drafting, system design, or plan checking within construction or engineering environments. Be computer literate. Be a capable user of Excel and other Microsoft products. Extensive proficiency with CAD software including AutoCAD, Proge CAD, Adobe. Strong knowledge of construction processes and technical drawing standards across disciplines such as mechanical design, interior design, schematic development, and graphic visualization. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise a team of detailers effectively while maintaining high standards of quality. Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in complex technical drawings and models. Ability to communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams to resolve issues swiftly. A degree or professional certification in architecture, engineering technology or related field is preferred but not mandatory.
