Job Overview We are seeking motivated, reliable Canvassers to knock doors and talk directly with voters across Oregon's 2nd Congressional District. In this role, you will reach nonaffiliated voters through direct, respectful conversations that reflect the campaign's presence in every corner of the district. Your work will be central to a campaign built on showing up where past campaigns haven't, and each canvasser is expected to reach approximately 3,000 voter contacts over the course of the assignment. This paid position offers meaningful field experience on a competitive congressional race in a large, rural district. Duties Canvass assigned turf using the MiniVAN app, following distributed lists built around specific voter segments Deliver the correct script for each voter segment, issues- and platform-focused for low-propensity Democrats, issues-first with no attacks for nonaffiliated voters, and record accurate results after each contact Meet weekly contact goals toward the assignment's overall target of roughly 3,000 voter contacts Represent the campaign professionally and safely at the door, including de-escalating difficult conversations when needed Report daily to a local host home, staging location, or team lead as assigned Provide honest, timely feedback to the campaign on turf conditions, voter response, and any access or safety issues Follow all campaign safety protocols and Oregon canvassing guidelines Qualifications Comfortable approaching strangers and having political conversations respectfully with people across the political spectrum Reliable and able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule for the duration of the assignment Comfortable using a smartphone app (MiniVAN) for canvassing; prior VAN experience is a plus but not required, training provided Able to walk extended routes outdoors in varying weather conditions Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to reach assigned turf, unless placement is walkable from a central location Familiarity with the local county or community strongly preferred Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred Join us as a Canvasser to help build the district-wide, door-to-door presence this campaign is built on.
