POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Y, Delivering excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention. Conduct "Cause Driven" interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; makes every effort to close membership sale. Build relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA, Knows and uses the names of members, Stands and greets members first, check on their progress Introduce members to other members and staff, Miss members when they haven't been in. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues. Apply all YMCA policies dealing with member services. Knows and follows the established financial and business procedures for the association and branch. Assists and/or administers financial assistance, assuring that no one is turned away from YMCA membership or participation based solely on their ability to pay. Supports the Branch's Annual Support Campaign through their words and actions.
QUALIFICATIONS
MUST be 18 years or older Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid. Completes all "Cause Driven" required trainings within the first 30 days. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Previous customer service, sales or related experience. Basic knowledge of computers.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Dress in a professional manner as it relates to the department in accordance with the established dress code.
