POSITION SUMMARY

The Membership Representative delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention. Interviews and/or tours prospective members; sells memberships. Builds relationships with members and helps members connect with one another and to the YMCA. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues. Answers the Membership Desk phone Uses a computer to check in members and utilize email Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services. May monitor the locker rooms as required. Uses technology systems efficiently and effectively to promote member retention. Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 16 years of age. High School Diploma or GED Preferred. 1 year of experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds. Previous customer service, sales or related experience. Basic knowledge of computers.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Current driver's license and access to reliable vehicle for transportation. Occasional travel, both local and national, may be required.
