Job Description

Job Purpose:
The front counter parts consultant is responsible for selling parts and accessories to retail, wholesale, and internal customers; ordering parts; oversee that parts, accessories, and tire displays are properly labeled and up to date; assist with parts inventory control; and completing any additional tasks assigned by parts manager; Staying up-to-date on all training and certifications.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Offer prompt, courteous, and friendly service to all clients and potential clients Identify customer's needs and suggest parts and accessories to meet those needs; selling like items Take all incoming retail telephone calls for parts department Manage retail customer's comments, complaints and concerns; help overcome objections when necessary Remain available to respond to inquiries from sales department staff and other internal customers/staff from all Continental Auto Group entities When needed, assist wholesale and back counter consultants; assist with shipping receiving when available Ordering Parts and Inventory Control Place scheduled stock orders and urgent orders for parts and accessories depending on customers needs Review backorder list(s) and notify customer/advisor of delays Post accurate lost sales when an item is needed and is not in stock Pull parts from stock to fill customer orders and tag parts when special orders are made Post incoming freight packing slips when needed, making part number changes and substitutions Notify customers upon special order arrival and make note of in computer Monitor open invoices to ensure that no invoice is left open longer than 30 days Stock and maintain parts/tire displays Keep area clean and organized for easy and safe deposit and retrieval of parts
Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or the equivalent Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information General mechanical skills Automotive industry experience helpful Valid driver's license and a good driving record required Good written and verbal communication skills Good Judgment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
