Job Description

Real Estate Legal Assistant We are currently seeking an experienced Real Estate Legal Assistant/Closer (primarily residential Real Estate) who can provide valuable administrative support to our Attorneys and Paralegals. This position requires someone who is a fast learner, self-motivated, and comfortable with a computer. The ideal candidate should be able to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication skills. This is an entry-level, administrative support position.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience handling South Carolina residential real estate closings Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail Ability to multi-task, and, at times, manage multiple transactions simultaneously Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel) Outstanding communication skills in person, over phone, and via email Professional, courteous, and client-focused Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; great time management
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES
Ideally one (1) to three (3) years experience handling or working on real estate closings Prior experience using SoftPro or similar real estate closing software is strongly preferred, but not required
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting with the preparation and review of legal documents related to real estate transactions Conducting research that is pertinent to real estate closings Preparing and reviewing contracts and ordering title work Preparing routine engagement letters and managing their distribution and execution Managing deadlines and maintaining organized files for easy retrieval Interacting with clients, other legal professionals, third-party vendors and government agencies in a courteous manner Requesting and obtaining payoff information for real estate closings in timely manner and ensuring payoffs are received and satisfied Prepare and distribute final closing packages to clients, lenders and third-parties as needed Providing administrative support to attorneys and paralegals Filing and recording documents as needed
