POSITION SUMMARY
The Shop General Labor position is responsible for supporting daily shop operations at the Rancho Cucamonga facility. This position assists with material movement, staging, counting, measuring, shop production support, and general housekeeping. The employee must work safely, follow direction, maintain a steady work pace, and be willing to learn ITP materials, product sizes, thread types, and shop processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist shop employees with moving, staging, and organizing raw material and finished product.
- Pull and stage material required for shop production and move material to designated work areas.
- Load, unload, stack, bundle, and organize material as directed by shop leadership.
- Assist with counting and verifying material quantities before and after shop processing.
- Use a tape measure to measure material and verify basic dimensions.
- Learn to identify different materials, product sizes, diameters, and thread types.
- Assist with checking and counting cut or processed material against work orders and shop requirements.
- Support cutting, threading, packaging, bundling, and other shop activities as assigned and when properly trained.
- Use pallet jacks and other approved material-handling equipment safely; forklift operation only after required company training and authorization.
- Maintain material in designated locations and keep work areas, aisles, and equipment areas clean and organized.
- Remove scrap, banding, packaging material, and other debris from shop work areas.
- Assist with end-of-shift cleanup, material organization, and preparation for the next shift.
- Communicate material shortages, incorrect material, damaged product, safety concerns, or other issues immediately to the Shop Supervisor or Lead.
- Follow all ITP safety rules, PPE requirements, and established shop procedures.
- Perform additional general shop duties as assigned based on operational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous general labor, manufacturing, machine shop, warehouse, steel, fastener, or material-handling experience preferred.
- Ability and willingness to learn shop operations, material identification, product sizes, diameters, and thread types.
- Ability to accurately count material and perform basic math.
- Ability to use or learn how to properly read a tape measure.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work effectively under shop leadership.
- Forklift and pallet-jack experience preferred; forklift operators must complete required company training/certification.
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and ability to work the assigned second-shift schedule.
- Ability to maintain productivity and work safely in an active industrial shop environment.
PHYSICAL / SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, squatting, and repetitive material handling throughout the shift.
- Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. using proper lifting practices.
- Steel-toe or approved safety footwear is required while working in shop and warehouse areas.
- Must follow all ITP safety rules, PPE requirements, forklift/pedestrian procedures, and established shop SOPs.
- Must be able to work safely around steel materials, forklifts, pallet jacks, machinery, and production equipment.

- Follow shop leadership direction and complete assigned work accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a steady and productive work pace throughout the shift.
- Accurately count, measure, stage, and handle material.
- Develop working knowledge of ITP materials, sizes, diameters, threads, and shop processes.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and immediately communicate safety, quality, or material concerns.
