Job Description

As a seasonal Rough Rice Lab QA Technician maintains the highest level of grain quality at the dryer through harvest, drying and quality analysis. This position is responsible for sample grading, evaluations, various raw material, and equipment inspections as necessary. The Season is anticipated to start Mid-September and run into November. Season may be shorter or longer depending upon harvest. Key Responsibilities Harvest Receiving Effectively interface with growers, dryer, and mill personnel. Maintain Harvest Database and have a working knowledge of DBC GrainSmart database. Probe and inspect paddy rice delivered to Lundberg Family Farms (LFF) Drying & Storage. Maintain harvest samples and product retains for quality analysis. Shipping Grade grains and maintain relevant training. Probe and inspect paddy rice shipped from LFF Drying and Storage to Mill. Working knowledge of stored grain pests. Basic proficiency in
Microsoft Office:
Excel, Outlook, and Word. Basic understanding of math and formula calculations used in spreadsheets. Ability to maintain accurate records/attention to details. Demonstrated ability to draft internal communication in English. High School diploma or GED equivalent Preferred Knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) program and Integrated Pest Management (IPM)/Pest Control practices. Knowledge of rice grading and storage procedures. Work Environment Work area includes an inside environment with moderate temperatures and moderate background noise as well as an outside environment with high and low temperatures, moderate background noise, exposure to dust, odors, noise, and mosquitoes. Physical Requirements for
Performing Essential Duties Sitting/Standing/Walking:
40% of the time is spent sitting and the other 60% is spent standing and walking around work area.
