Primary Function The primary function of the Shop Sales Associate is to ensure that the Retail Shop is a pleasant, helping environment and assist out guests in selecting and purchasing merchandise. Reporting and Accountability The Shop Sales Associate reports to and is accountable to the Shop Manager. In their absence report the Manager on Duty. Authority The Shop Sales Associate has the support and authority necessary to carry out the responsibilities and tasks described in this job description and other delegated responsibilities of the Shop. The Shop Sales Associate also has the authority to exceed our Guests Expectations and wow them within the limits of the GHSR boundaries. Physical Requirements Adequate physical agility to perform the physical tasks required such as climbing steep ladders for creating displays, kneeling, reaching, lifting, etc. Able to climb stairs several times a day between sales floor and upstairs stockroom. Able to push, pull, carry and lift up to 30 pounds Must be able to use a computer and have ability to handle cash and credit card transactions. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Other Requirements Retail sales experience preferred. Computer access and data entry skills or ability to be trained in that area. Cash handling skills. Educational Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Work Hours and Days Work hours and days are varied to accommodate the Retail Shop peak selling opportunities, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Scheduled hours may increase or reduce seasonally.
