Habitat for Humanity of Eastern Connecticut ReStore Associate (Plainfield ReStore)REPORTS TO
ReStore ManagerFLSA STATUS
Non-Exempt/Part-Time SALARY:
$17.25/hr., 20-25 hrs/week The ReStore is a retail business that sells donated building materials, furniture, and appliances at discounted prices to generate revenue to support Habitat for Humanity of Eastern CT. The ReStore exists to financially support the mission of the affiliate. Under the direction of the Store Manager, the ReStore Associate is responsible for creating a welcoming, professional environment by helping donors, retrieving inventory, maintaining an orderly and organized floor, assisting with sales, taking in donations, and other duties that arise within a day's shift.RESPONSIBILITIES
may include: Welcome customers and donors as they enter the ReStore Process donations, provide appropriate paperwork and clean items to the State's specifications Issue receipts, hold tags, sold tags, appliance testing as needed Lead groups of volunteers in tasks Physical environments, must be able to lift 50lbs and work on feet in a busy retail environment Assist customers with carrying purchases out to their vehicle Additional duties may include:- Drive an affiliate-owned vehicle, as assigned by the Store Manager or their designee, for work-related job assignments, community pick-ups, and donations, in accordance with affiliate policies and procedures..
- Keep all areas of responsibility clean and neat, including inside and outside storage areas.
- Secure and store cleaning supplies properly, using the proper solvent and application for each donation.
- Assist in the inventory, storage and movement of donated and purchased product.
- Organize and maintain store inventory, repackage/label/measure/price, etc.
- Empty trash and recycling daily as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, this position:
- Requires the physical ability to sit, climb a ladder, walk, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time. While the offices are smoke-free and temperature controlled, much of the work may be in non-temperature-controlled conditions, possibly outdoors.
- The position requires persons who can safely push, lift and/or carry at least 50lbs on an occasional basis and to stand 6 to 8 hours.
