Job Description

Ventura Mart. Ventura, IA Local hometown Convenience Store. Flexible Part-time hours. We will gladly train the right applicant. This position is evenings and weekends 4 - 8 hour shifts, between 20-30 hours per week. Duties include operating point of sale register, gas island system, greeting Customers, completing transactions, stocking, cooking and end of shift housekeeping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient service. Answer customer questions and provide product information. Resolve customer issues and complaints professionally. Answer phones professionally and take down accurate information Upsell products and services to customers.
Store Operations:
Stock shelves and coolers with merchandise. Maintain cleanliness of the store, including floors, counters, and restrooms. Including mopping, vacuuming, taking out garbage (indoors and outdoors) Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages. Operate cash register and process transactions accurately. Balance cash drawers at the end of each shift. Follow all safety and security procedures.
Food Preparation:
Cooking and assembling food items according to specific directions and quality standards. Maintaining a clean workstation, sanitizing equipment, following food safety regulations, and preventing cross-contamination.
Other Duties:
Assist with store opening and closing procedures. Participate in store inventory and audits. Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience in retail or customer service preferred. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to lift and carry heavy items. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Basic computer skills. Capable of becoming food safety certified.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds Ability to reach, bend, twist and stoop frequently. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds over head Ability to climb a step stool
Work Environment:
Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. May be exposed to varying temperatures.

$11.00 - $14.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 30.0 per week
