Job Description

Job Summary Deep Sea Headquarters is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and customer-focused Retail Associate to join our marina store and fuel dock team in Port Aransas. This is a hands-on position that combines traditional retail responsibilities with marina and dock duties. Retail Associates assist customers in the store, stock and maintain merchandise, operate the register, fuel boats at our fuel dock, and load ice, bait, and other supplies onto fishing vessels. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working around boats and the water, doesn't mind working outdoors, and is comfortable with a physically active job. Primary Responsibilities Retail Store Duties Provide friendly and professional customer service to customers and marina guests. Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately process cash and credit card transactions. Sell fishing tackle, apparel, souvenirs, snacks, beverages, ice, bait, and other marina merchandise. Stock shelves, coolers, freezers, and merchandise displays. Receive, organize, and put away incoming inventory. Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked retail areas. Assist customers with locating merchandise and answering basic product questions. Perform opening and closing duties as assigned. Maintain cleanliness throughout the store and surrounding work areas. Fuel Dock & Marina Duties Fuel recreational and commercial boats at the Deep Sea Headquarters fuel dock. Safely operate fuel pumps and follow all company fuel-handling and safety procedures. Assist customers with docking and fueling when necessary. Process fuel transactions accurately. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fuel dock. Monitor the fuel dock area and immediately report spills, equipment problems, or other safety concerns to management. Boat Loading & Dock Duties Load bags of ice onto fishing boats before departure. Load bait, tackle, drinks, and other supplies onto boats as directed. Move and stack ice, bait, merchandise, and marina supplies. Assist captains and crews with preparing vessels for scheduled trips. Help unload and organize supplies when boats return to the dock. Keep docks, loading areas, ice storage areas, and bait areas clean and organized. Assist with other dock and marina duties as needed. Physical Requirements This is an active and physically demanding position . Applicants must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in a marina environment.
Employees must be able to:
Regularly lift and carry bags of ice, bait, merchandise, and other supplies. Lift approximately 50 pounds when necessary. Work outdoors in heat, humidity, wind, and changing weather conditions. Walk and stand for extended periods. Work around docks, boats, water, fuel equipment, and wet or slippery surfaces. Bend, reach, carry, push, and pull throughout the shift. Safely board boats when necessary to load supplies. Qualifications Previous retail, marina, dock, warehouse, or customer service experience is preferred but not required. Must be dependable and punctual. Strong customer service skills. Comfortable handling cash and credit card transactions. Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Comfortable working around boats, water, fuel, bait, and fish. Must be willing to perform both retail and physical dock duties. Fishing, boating, or marina experience is a plus but not required. Schedule & Availability Deep Sea Headquarters operates in the tourism and fishing industry , and our busiest times are weekends, holidays, spring break, and the summer season. Applicants must have flexible availability and be willing to work: Weekdays Weekends Holidays Early mornings Evenings Longer or varying shifts during peak season Weekend and holiday availability is required. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, and willing to help wherever needed . A successful Retail Associate at Deep Sea Headquarters should be just as comfortable helping a customer in the store as they are loading ice onto a fishing boat or fueling a vessel at the dock. This is not strictly a behind-the-counter retail job. Team members should expect to stay active throughout their shift and regularly move between the retail store, fuel dock, docks, and boat-loading areas. Pay:
