What we are looking for:
We are seeking a hands-on, driven Fleet Shop Manager with previous supervisory or management experience in a fleet, diesel, and/or heavy-duty repair shop. The right candidate is a strong leader who takes ownership, leads by example, and takes pride in keeping a team, shop, and fleet operating safely and efficiently. We're looking for someone who is proactive, organized, solution-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards while supporting a hardworking, team-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the fleet maintenance and repair shop Lead and supervise technicians and staff, fostering a positive team environment. Assign and prioritize work orders based on vehicle needs, technician availability, and operational priorities. Develop and implement maintenance strategies and procedures. Ensure compliance with safety policies and relevant regulations. Collaborate with the Parts Manager to manage inventory levels. Prepare reports on maintenance activities and budgets. Ensure all shop operations comply with applicable
DOT, OSHA
< environmental, and company safety requirements. Address employee performance, scheduling, attendance, and training as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license. Previous experience managing or supervising a fleet, automotive, diesel, or heavy-duty repair shop. Strong knowledge of vehicle equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and repair. Knowledge of DOT regulations and fleet safety requirements. Comfortable with regular check-ins, reports, and meetings with the management team. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with computers and maintenance management software. Ability to prioritize multiple repair and maintenance needs in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
College Graduate CDL Fleetio Samsara Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a shop environment and regularly walk, stand, bend, stoop, and move throughout the facility. Ability to occasionally lift and move tools, equipment, and parts. Ability to work around vehicles, machinery, tools, and varying environmental conditions.
