Role :

The Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations which includes a diverse array of responsibilities while serving as the lead staff person managing Ethos' brick-and-mortar retail location. The Shop Manager will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including but not limited to: Providing exceptional customer service Communicating low waste principles and product specifics to customers Assisting customers in-store, by phone and digitally Resolving escalated customer issues Managing all staff members Acting as the main point of contact for staff Managing staff-wide to do lists, special projects, and communication updates Creating and managing staff schedule, with availability, traffic patterns and the labor budget in mind Leading in the management, hiring, and training of Shop Associates Setting clear expectations and providing regular feedback to support the team's growth Supporting team in tasks and their on-going training and growth Overseeing inventory management through inventory checks, including transfers and loss prevention Conducting periodic inventory counts and reconciling variances Enforcing systems, policies, and productivity standards Managing general shop upkeep, cleanings and maintenance Managing product displays and merchandising Managing the receiving and unboxing of orders Fulfilling online orders Managing opening and closing procedures Managing the registers which includes cash handling and depositing Managing all health and safety for staff, customers and the shop Assisting in creating social media content by capturing photos or videos Assisting in creating promotional deals and discounts Assist in developing and executing community collaborations and in-shop events/workshops Working closely with upper management to implement and create new systems Sales +

Performance :

Partnering with ownership on monthly and quarterly sales goals Monitoring key indicators such as average ticket and units per transaction Identifying opportunities to grow sales through events, clienteling, and product education We are seeking someone who : Has a desire to grow with Ethos and is in alignment with the mission Has excellent problem solving, critical thinking + leadership skills Is highly organized and has great attention to detail Must be hardworking and self-motivated yet able to accept direction Ability to work with and motivate a team by leading by example Has the ability to establish highly productive relationships with a diverse team while ensuring healthy, supportive, safe, and inclusive spaces Has a high level of emotional maturity and strong communication skills Demonstrates dependability, reliability, and consistency with a strong work ethic Is very people-oriented, positive, and personable

Position Requirements :

2 or more years of retail experience, including at least 1 year at a management, supervisory, or keyholder level Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and both opening and closing shifts Strong written and verbal communication Comfortable using a point-of-sale system, inventory software, and basic sales reporting Able to commute reliably to our Los Gatos shop 18 years of age or older Experience in specialty retail or with a mission-driven brand, familiarity with Lightspeed, and a personal interest in low-waste living are all a plus, but are not required.

Physical Demands :

This position involves being on one's feet and standing for the large majority of shifts. The position also involves sitting, squatting, bending, reaching and the ability to lift, carry + pour liquids comfortably up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation. Benefits :

Starting pay is $24-$28 per hour, based on experience. This position is non-exempt, and overtime is paid at the rates required by California law. This is a full time position with benefits. Benefits for this position are as follows: Health reimbursement through a Qualified Small Employer Health Reimbursement Arrangement (QSEHRA). Ethos reimburses up to $300 per month toward individual health insurance premiums and qualified medical expenses. This is a reimbursement benefit rather than an employer-sponsored group health plan. Schedule :

30-40 hrs per week. Available weekdays and weekends. Weekends and holiday coverage are required, along with a mix of opening and closing shifts. November and December are our busiest months and time off requests are limited during that period. We will go over the specific weekly schedule during the interview process.

Supervision :

This position is supervised by Ethos' Shop Owner and works closely with other managers, all while working collaboratively with all other team members. Diversity +
