IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR
Hardware ManagerBASIC FUNCTION
To oversee the daily operations of the sales floor, customer service counter and cashiers. This position's goal is to provide leadership in the above areas to ensure that our high level of customer service is upheld. The position requires strong leadership by example and effective management skills to accomplish the following responsibilities and standards:RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate leadership

- Manage and give direction to all retail salespeople and cashiers to ensure maximum customer service
- Resolve customer complaints within company guidelines
- Resolve refund issues within company guidelines
- Supervise personnel in stocking, merchandising, and maintenance.
- Be familiar with special order and markup guidelines and assist staff with all issues relating to special orders
- Prepare sales floor for sales events. Ensure that proper signage is displayed for sale items.
- Manage the rotation of end caps and seasonal goods. Ensure that proper signage is displayed for these items.
- Be able to relieve as a cashier
- Employee training
- know that every person in the department has had their required training
- Direct personnel to any unassisted customer, dismiss excessive personnel, call additional cashiers
- Ensure phone calls and radios are answered

- Oversee that store floors, merchandise, store front, and equipment is clean and maintained
- Act as duty store manager as required
- Have knowledge of all operating policies and procedures within the department. Ensure all personnel is working within the policy guidelines
- Supervise the store associates to ensure their duties of inventory order, sales work, inventory maintenance and cleaning, and department cleaning are accomplished
- Watch for shoplifters and suspicious customers

- Uphold Hill's mission statement in all facets of daily work.
- Work according the General Personnel Guidelines and Employee Policies as stated in the Employee Handbook
- Ability to manage and lead by example
- The ability to coach, counsel and / or discipline employees as required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates of the Company.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
- Good interpersonal, communication, sales and customer service skills.
- Ability to use computer as required.
