Full Job Description Bookstore Supervisor Key Responsibilities:
Open and close the bookstore safely, including disarming and setting security alarm systems.
Customer Service :
Greet shoppers, answer questions, and help customers locate specific titles or sections.
Cashier Duties:
Handle cash management tasks, such as counting registers, balancing tills.
Merchandising:
Shelves, organize, and restock books by genre or author to keep the sales floor tidy. Backroom Support when needed : Sort incoming book donations, evaluate book conditions, and price items fairly. Monitor store cleanliness, safety standards, and visual merchandising.
Communication:
Friendly interpersonal skills to assist customers and work with team members. Help train new team members on store policies and register, pricing books and donations. Strong attention to detail for categorizing genres and tracking inventory accurately. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Performs all other duties as assigned and trained.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, with a passion for books a major plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds, walking or standing to a significant degree, exposed to extreme temperatures, noise, fumes, dust, etc.
