Job Description

Shop SupervisorFull-Time | Day ShiftThe RoleWe are looking for a hands-on Shop Supervisor to take ownership of the daily flow of a fabrication shop.

This person will coordinate material receiving, fabrication priorities, staging, deliveries, equipment readiness, and the work of shop employees. This is not a desk-only management position. The right candidate will lead the shop, establish priorities, hold employees accountable, and work alongside the team when needed.

Industry-specific experience is valuable, but strong leadership, organization, urgency, and follow-through are equally important.

What You Will OwnSet daily priorities for shop fabrication, material staging, shipping, receiving, and deliveriesCoordinate with project managers to ensure materials are ready when field crews need themLead, train, and hold shop employees accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and organizationMaintain an accurate and organized inventory and material staging systemIdentify shortages, damaged material, missing information, and schedule risks before they become field problemsCoordinate the use and basic maintenance of shop equipment, forklifts, trailers, and fleet vehiclesAssist with fabrication activities as neededMaintain a clean, safe, and professional shop environmentImprove shop processes and reduce wasted time, lost materials, and preventable delaysCommunicate clearly when priorities conflict or additional decisions are neededWhat Success Looks LikeWithin the first 90 days:

Daily shop priorities are clearMaterials are staged accurately and on timeShipping and receiving are organizedShop employees understand expectations and ownershipEquipment and fleet needs are identified before they interrupt workProject managers receive dependable updatesFewer field delays are caused by missing, damaged, or incomplete materialsQualificationsTwo or more years of leadership experience in construction, manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse operations, logistics, or a related environmentProven ability to organize daily work and manage competing prioritiesComfortable giving direct feedback and holding employees accountableStrong communication and follow-throughComfortable using computers, mobile devices, and basic production tracking systemsExperience using power tools, fabrication equipment, forklifts, or warehouse equipmentAbility to read shop drawings, fabrication sheets, measurements, and material listsValid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordAbility to lift up to 70 poundsCommercial glass, storefront, curtain wall, door, or metal fabrication experience is preferred but not requiredBenefitsHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insurance401(k) matchingPaid time offBoot reimbursementOpportunities for advancementFull-time, year-round workPrimarily climate-controlled shop environmentIdeal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance people management, production priorities, material coordination, and day-to-day shop operations.
