Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing aspects of daily operations at Washington Square Bar & Grill, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, strong financial performance, and a positive, team-driven work environment. This role leads front of house operations, drives revenue growth, and upholds the restaurant's standards for quality, service, and community presence. This role has a focus on managing our bar and our bar staff. Key Responsibilities Operations Management Oversee daily restaurant operations, including dining room, bar, and kitchen coordination Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and service Monitor and maintain compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations Bar ordering and inventory Team Leadership & Development Hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development Guest Experience Maintain a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for guests Address customer feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally Build relationships with regular patrons and the local community Financial Performance Manage budgets, labor costs, and inventory to meet financial goals Cocktail and drink menu creation to promote sale growth Oversee cash handling, reporting, and daily financial operations Marketing & Community Engagement Collaborate on promotions, events, and seasonal offerings Maintain an active presence in the White Bear Lake community Support brand consistency across in-house and digital platforms Qualifications 2-4+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably in a full-service setting Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Proven ability to drive sales and manage costs effectively Knowledge of food, beverage, and bar operations Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
