The ideal ASM brings an upbeat vibe to the team and is an expert motivator, coach, and teacher. The ASM is highly organized and thrives in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. Assistant Store Managers are adept at facilitating a cooperative work environment and coaching team members on a daily basis. They are up to date on the latest product knowledge and compliance information, and freely share that information with their team members. Position Summary The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) is responsible for supporting the overall performance of the NatureMed location. In coordination with the Store Manager, the ASM manages the team and day-to-day operations of the location, and operates the location in compliance with applicable laws and NatureMed policies and practices. The ASM is self-motivated, able to prioritize, delegate, and quickly confirm tasks are completed to expectation. The Assistant Store Manager reports directly to the Store Manager and works hand-in-hand with the Supervisors at the location to deliver excellent customer experiences. Assistant Store Managers are bonus eligible. Bonuses are based on store performance to goal. Primary Duties & Responsibilities The Assistant Store Manager's key responsibilities include: Lead and motivate a diverse team to deliver an overall excellent experience for every patron and patient. Ensure the location operates in compliance with state regulations and is consistent with NatureMed company policies. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and address any customer concerns in a timely manner. Manage store open/closing processes to ensure protocols are followed and tasks are completed accurately and timely. Report and relay pertinent information to the Store Manager, and other members of the team, as needed. Review daily reports and facilitate the resolution of any discrepancies. Coordinate with the Store Manager to maintain appropriate inventory levels to support sales and any anticipated demand/needs. Review inventory counts regularly to ensure they are performed accurately and documented in the inventory control systems. Verify daily sales calculations and cash counts, prepare daily deposits. Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and managing performance of all team members. Approve timecards to support bi-weekly payroll. Facilitating industry, product, and performance knowledge acquisition by sharing information and articles, providing training opportunities, and coaching. Facilitate performance reviews and check-ins with all team members, with the Store Manager. Manage customer and/or team conflict to a positive resolution. Identify and respond to customer concerns. Be a shining example of good behavior and high performance. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities Required:
A minimum of 1 year experience in retail management. A minimum of 2 years' experience in customer service. High school diploma or equivalent, required. Highly organized, accurate with attention to detail. Effective verbal and written communication. Accurate cash counting and cash handling skills. Experience using MS Office and/or Google suites. Able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Preferred:
1 year of Inventory Control experience preferred. Some college or advanced study in a related field is preferred. Experience with Point of Sales systems (POS) preferred. Experience working in a regulated environment is preferred. Knowledge of the cannabis industry is preferred, but required for this position.
Physical Requirements:
The Assistant Store Manager is required to sit at a desk to complete work on a computer, or stand and move about in confined spaces, for long periods of time. The ASM must be able to regularly lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. This position also requires bending, stooping, climbing, and kneeling, as needed to merchandise and maintain the space. Schedule The schedule for this position varies and is based on operational needs. Store hours are from 8 am to 10 pm, 7 days a week, and open most holidays. The Assistant Store Manager establishes a regular schedule that provides coverage to best support their team and store. The Assistant Store Manager's schedule may require extended hours, both day and afternoon shifts, weekends and holidays. This position is required to report to their assigned location, in-person. Travel Infrequent travel to locations within the city or state may be required.
