An Assistant Retail Store Manager provides support to the Manager of a retail store, either an independent business or a store that is part of a large retail chain. May have primary responsibility for hiring and training retail sales staff. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. Supervises sales, warehouse, cleaning, maintenance and security staff and prepares work schedules. Responsible for resolving customer complaints.

As an Assistant Store Manager, you'll help lead a compassionate retail team within a hospital gift shop environment, ensuring every guest experience reflects our core values of integrity, empathy, and excellence. Key Responsibilities Deliver exceptional customer service with warmth and attentiveness. Maintain merchandising standards and support sales growth. Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs. Follow visual merchandising and promotional guidelines. Uphold operational procedures and company policies. Accurately process transactions using POS systems; may handle bank deposits. Assist in scheduling, training, and coaching team members. Independently open and close the store. Perform other duties as assigned.

This summary is not exhaustive and may be adjusted to meet ADA compliance. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum one year of experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service. Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement.
