Job Description

Job Summary Machine Shop Manager wanted to run our job shop. In this position, you will work alongside the V.P. of Operations in all aspects of our machine shop activities, including quoting jobs, ordering materials, assigning jobs to machinists & welder/fabricators, maintaining customer relationships, both over the phone and in-person at their location. Must have experience quoting jobs and/or experience operating mills, lathes, and welding / fabricating. Willing to train the right individual, who possesses strong interpersonal skills and has experience in a supervisory role or shop foreman. Duties Lead and coordinate all machine shop operations, including machining, welding, fabricating, and maintenance activities to meet production schedules and quality standards. Oversee production scheduling, ensuring efficient use of materials and equipment while maintaining adherence to delivery deadlines. Manage supply chain logistics related to raw materials, components, and finished goods through supply chain analytics and supply chain management best practices. Supervise a team of machinists and welder / fabricators to foster cross-functional communication to enhance teamwork and operational efficiency. Maintain quality control standards by integrating quality assurance protocols into daily operations. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, mechanical standards, and environmental policies across the plant. Drive plant management initiatives that promote lean management practices, process improvement, and operational excellence. Qualifications Proven experience in management within a manufacturing or machine shop environment with strong knowledge of mechanical systems. Demonstrated experience in machining, including mills, lathes, and welding / fabricating. Background in manufacturing principles. Experience and/or proficiency in computer drafting / drawing programs such as AutoDesk Inventor, plus JobBoss, and Microsoft Office, FeatureCam and reading IGIS Files. Or a demostrated proficiency in other computer programs and the ability to learn new programs. Strong team leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff, foster cross-functional collaboration, and communicate effectively across departments. Solid understanding of quality control procedures and manufacturing best practices to ensure high standards are maintained consistently. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in assembly processes is highly desirable in this role.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
