Job Description:
As a Sales Engineer, you will drive new business and manage customer relationships by bridging technical capability with customer needs. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to scope, quote, and win projects, translating customer requirements into manufacturable solutions. Your technical fluency and communication skills will be essential to taking ownership of your projects and ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the sales cycle. Read and interpret engineering drawings to scope manufacturability, cost, and lead time. Prepare and present quotes, proposals, and technical presentations to prospective and existing customers. Take ownership of active projects. Coordinate with engineering and production teams to ensure projects are on time, on budget, and meet customer specifications. Effectively manage the project planning process to ensure the availability of materials, equipment, and manpower for smooth project execution. Work directly with suppliers to purchase project materials and services. Maintain organized documentation, from CNC programs to shipping paperwork. Generate reports and complete special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field required. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable engaging directly with customers. Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication. Strong sense of ownership and multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude and willingness to learn; coachable and adaptable to change. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and material requirements. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Position requires personnel to be on site. Our hours are 7am to 3:30pm.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Willing to wear required PPE and follow all shop safety protocols. Comfortable working on an active manufacturing shop floor.
Nice To Haves:
Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Experience with ERP or MRP systems.
