Location Requirement:
The work arrangement for this role is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of three (3) days in the office, with flexibility to work remotely two (2) days each week.
Role Overview:
The Pre-Sales Network Planning Engineer completes pre-sale design requests that include DWDM transport spans and systems, dark fiber designs and large high-level RFP requests. Engineer will develop designs to support requests and develop high-level CAPEX which are incorporated into the financials on quotes. The engineer ensures that the designs align with SEGRA's network policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of a stable, scalable, and resilient network. This role works with minimum supervision to independently and collaboratively drive solutions that promote sound network principles and objectively resolve complex problems. The position requires a self-motivated, team-oriented individual who can effectively collaborate across Sales, Sales Engineering, Operations, Network Planning, and other cross-functional teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. This Engineer must possess a strong understanding of SEGRA's core transport systems and demonstrate advanced knowledge of network equipment form vendors such as Ciena, Cisco, ADVA, Nokia, etc. The role requires the ability to understand and create network maps and logical drawings, including the development of KMZ files representing network infrastructure fiber routes and high-level Vizio diagrams of logical network designs.
Qualifications:
Education:
Technical College Degree or equivalent preferred.
Required Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of related industry experience.
Preferred Experience:
Network Design, Network Planning or Transport engineering work experience. Knowledge of MPLS, TCP/IP, QoS, CoS, Cisco CCIE and MEF Certifications, VoIP, MCGP/SIP, BGP/ISIS/OSPF/(E)IGRP Routing Protocols. Cisco, Nokia, or Ciena equipment experience. Practical knowledge of Segra networks. Proficient with ARC GIS Pro, internal systems, and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Visio, and Power Point.
Key Competencies:
Must be a detailed oriented individual with strong organizational and communication skills., Ideally, knowledge of L2/L3 structure, equipment, products and services. The individual must also demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn and effectively utilize additional software tools as required to support evolving business and technical needs.

Salary Range:
$64,050 - $76,000 Beyond competitive health and retirement benefits with immediate 401(k) vesting, Segra also invests in your total well-being through programs supporting physical, mental, financial, and social wellness.
