+ Design Center is expanding, and we are looking for relentless, growth-oriented professionals who want to own their territory and build a business within ours. We're hiring one dedicated hunter in each of our five Eastern Iowa markets to capture and dominate the regional builder, contractor, and new-construction flooring market. You bring the drive, grit, and strategy to open doors. We bring the estimating power, design resources, massive product inventory, and elite installation infrastructure of an established industry leader to back you up every step of the way.

YOUR MISSION

Establish Thornton Flooring as the premier, go-to partner for residential builders, remodelers, developers, and general contractors across your territory. This isn't a traditional showroom job, and it's not a maintenance role.

What You'll Do:
Hunter Mindset:

Aggressively prospect for new builder accounts, convert competitor clients, and turn cold introductions into high-value relationships.

On-the-Ground Presence:

Spend your days where the business happens—in builder offices, jobsite trailers, active subdivisions, and construction projects.

Solution Selling:

Partner with builders, purchasing agents, and project managers to specify flooring packages, estimate project costs, and secure bids.

Pipeline Management:

Build and nurture an active, high-volume pipeline of upcoming residential and commercial developments.

Seamless Execution:

Collaborate directly with our internal estimating, design, and installation teams to ensure your projects are delivered flawlessly.

Market Ownership:

Become the trusted, indispensable flooring resource that builders in your city know, call, and rely on.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We don't want someone waiting for the phone to ring—we want someone who loves the chase and gets energized by closing the deal.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Proven track record in B2B sales, cold outreach, and territory growth. Self-motivated, fiercely competitive, and driven by high earning potential. Comfortable walking onto job sites, striking up conversations, and asking for the business. Exceptional relationship builder who earns trust through reliability and industry know-how. Highly organized and capable of managing a multi-stage sales pipeline independently. Familiarity with the construction lifecycle, building materials, or contractor workflows.

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

Flooring experience is great, but a proven ability to sell to the building trade is what matters most. We want to talk to you if your background includes B2B sales in: Building materials & lumber Cabinets & countertops Windows, doors, roofing, or siding HVAC, plumbing, or electrical supply Heavy equipment or construction services We also strongly welcome experienced Builder Purchasing Managers, Estimators, Project Managers, and Construction Superintendents who know how the industry moves and are ready to leverage their network into a high-earning sales career.

WHAT THORNTON FLOORING PROVIDES

You're building a business, but you aren't doing it alone. You'll operate with the full power of our enterprise backing you:

Brand Reputation:

Decades of proven reliability and market leadership.

Deep Product Catalog:

Direct access to top-tier hard surface, carpet, and specialty flooring lines.

Turnkey Support:

Full-service professional estimating, design showroom resources, and dedicated project management support.

Installation Power:

A network of skilled, experienced installation crews ready to execute your deals.

Uncapped Earnings:

An aggressive compensation package explicitly designed to reward top performers.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

We believe the sales professional who drives real revenue should reap the rewards. Competitive Base Salary

+ Uncapped Commission Structure

+ New Account Acquisition Incentives No artificial income ceilings—your earning potential is dictated entirely by your drive and results.

ARE YOU THE ONE WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

If you want to manage a legacy book of business and sit behind a desk, this isn't the role for you. But if you're the person who: Sees a competitor's sign on a job site and says, "That's my account next month." Drives past an empty lot, sees a developer's banner, and immediately makes the call. Thrives on making the cold outreach nobody else wants to make. Wants your paycheck to directly reflect the revenue you generate. Then let's talk. Build something real with Thornton Flooring.
