The Estimating & Sales Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the quoting process by coordinating with engineering, purchasing, suppliers, and sales teams to develop accurate and competitive quotations. This role manages RFQs, gathers supplier pricing and lead times, performs cost analysis, and helps ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and communicated throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while supporting both operational and sales objectives. Key Responsibilities Review customer RFQs, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements to develop accurate quotations. Collaborate with engineering, sales, purchasing, and production teams to prepare pricing proposals using engineering-provided labor and manufacturing data. Coordinate with raw material suppliers, hardware vendors, and outside processing providers to obtain pricing, lead times, and technical information required to support estimating and quoting activities. Research and source difficult-to-find materials, hardware and manufacturing requirements to support customer and production needs. Perform post-job cost analysis to improve estimating accuracy, identify cost-saving opportunities, and enhance profitability. Ensure customer requirements, specifications, and expectations are clearly understood, documented, and communicated throughout the organization. Support sales activities through quote follow-up, opportunity tracking, and timely communication with internal teams and customers. Build and maintain productive relationships with suppliers and outside service providers to support competitive pricing and reliable delivery performance. Preferred Experience & Skills Experience in manufacturing, machining, sheet metal fabrication, aerospace, defense, or a related industrial environment preferred. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, bills of material, and technical specifications preferred. Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
