Job Description

The UVU SMARTLab is seeking a self-driven, research-oriented student to serve as our Business Development Representative. In this outward-facing role, you will assist the SMARTLab's leadership team with spearheading our efforts to discover and secure new commercial clients, industry partners, and sponsored research projects. You will act as a primary bridge between the lab's cutting-edge consumer neuroscience/behavioral research capabilities and the local business community.
Client Acquisition & Outreach:
Identify, prospect, and pitch prospective corporate clients, local businesses, and organizational partners to drive paid research and testing contracts for the lab.
Marketing & Promotion:
Assist in marketing and promoting the SMARTLab's commercial and academic services across the community, university, and business sectors. Conduct lab tours for businesses, classes, and the community
Project Support:
Help coordinate client deliverables, assist in conducting biometric marketing research to support client strategies. Administer biometric experiments and projects (eye-tracking, facial expression analysis, EEG, galvanic skin response). Job commitment expectation is 15-25 hours per week with minimum availability in 2+ hour blocks, and it is strongly preferred that this is the only job. Must be a current UVU student. Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Must be able to complete CITI training. Strong communication, networking, and presentation skills suited for professional client interactions. Self-motivated and willing to learn how to synthesize scientific data and market data into compelling value proposition presentations for businesses Attention to detail and ability to follow directions. Ability to independently execute projects on a timely basis.
