Ensure timely receipt of both product and non-products received into the store. Move freight from the receiving area to departmental staging areas and storage rooms. Assure an organized back-room area. Support the Managers and Buyers in maintaining regional standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recording and organizing invoices and maintaining an orderly and efficient receiving area. Use of all Woodlands system tools (handheld) to effectively document all receipts into the store. Receive product orders using handheld system tools, fax, and printer Receive all products for the store, inspecting it for quality, quantity, and safety (temperature) Report any receiving discrepancies to Manager(s) and Buyer(s); build and maintain consistency for ordering/receiving processes Maintain an excellent working relationship with Buyers and Managers to ensure a smooth and complete ordering and receiving process Maintain courteous relationships with drivers, suppliers and employees Follow all applicable health and sanitation procedures including food safety guidelines as they pertain to receiving practices Perform other duties as assigned by Store Management Ensure timely receipt of both product and non-products received into the store. Support Managers and Buyers in maintaining regional standards. Record and organize invoices and maintain an orderly and efficient receiving area. Use all Woodlands system tools (handheld) to effectively document all receipts into the store. Place and process orders as directed by Store Management and Buyers, ensuring accuracy and timely submission. Work back stock and organize inventory to ensure products are properly rotated, stored, and readily available for each department. Assist all store departments as needed, including Front End, Wine, Produce, Grocery, and other departments, to support daily operations and provide excellent customer service. Help stock, replenish, organize, and maintain merchandise throughout the store as assigned. Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and efficient receiving and back-room environment.
Requirements:
Ability to use handheld unit for scanning incoming product, fax machine, and printer Must be detail oriented and have excellent follow through to ensure the receiving process runs smoothly Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment with the ability to adjust to the constant demands of a high volume location Ability to work in a highly interdependent work flow process where each segment of a process relies heavily on the other parts Ability to follow instructions Ability to work independently yet have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others Ability to knowledgeably communicate with product, supply and service vendors. Ability to perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Must be able to communicate and read in English. Ability to maintain professional and appropriate conduct with all business partners & suppliers.
Physical Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older. Stand & walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break. Bend & stoop to grasp objects & climb tall ladders. Bend & lift loads regularly, not to exceed 50lbs, & occasionally up to 75lbs unassisted. Push & pull carts, weighing up to 100lbs, unassisted. Must be able to consistently bend & twist neck & waist, reach above & below shoulders & squat during the course of a work shift. Who Are We?
