Job Description
Garland's Garden Center, since 1982 Garland's has been a fixture of the local community for generations, serving customers with everything from seasonal plants and fresh florals to power equipment and expert repairs. As we build on this legacy, we're looking for enthusiastic, hardworking people to join our team and help shape what's next for Garland's. Floor Associate Store-wide (Garden Center, Power Equipment, and/or Florist — may move around departments in one day as needed) Reports to Manager on Duty and the relevant department Specialist Year-round Position Summary Floor Associates are the front line of the Garlands customer experience — connecting with customers and processing sales, keeping the store stocked, and delivering goods out on the road. Associates support across all departments and are trained to have a general knowledge of all areas of the store. What You'll Do Greet and assist customers on the sales floor and at checkouts Process sales and repairs at the checkout or on the floor with the mobile checkout Stock, face, and tidy shelves and displays across assigned departments Assist with receiving, pricing, moving, and counting inventory Support Specialists with day-to-day tasks as needed (watering, loading, cleanup, seasonal setup) Learn basic product knowledge across departments to help answer common customer questions Follow store procedures for cash handling, safety, and opening/closing single registers as assigned Trained Levels A higher hourly rate is provided for Associates who have the appropriate training and licenses to perform the below tasks: Delivery or pick up of items from customers across departments — flowers, snow blowers, garden items, etc. Driver's License and listing on insurance (clean record required). Must be comfortable making deliveries alone or, for busy seasons / heavy loads, with one other team member. Forklift driving for unloading and moving inventory. Forklift training required. Experience and Skills Required No prior experience required — a friendly, reliable, hardworking attitude matters most Comfort with physical work (standing, lifting up to 40 lbs, working outdoors) Willingness to learn and pitch in across departments Reliable availability, especially during the spring rush and weekends
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly position; level and pay based on experience per our compensation structure, with benefits eligibility per level.Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hourBenefits:
