Essential Functions 1. Practices universal precaution procedures 2. Understands the principles of Ultraviolet disinfection 3. Understands the principles of 3M Clean Trace/ or similar surface contamination detection software/hardware. 4. Runs Ultraviolet/decontamination equipment on a day to day basis in all assigned areas 5. Coordinates and priorities with patient flow coordinator the closure of rooms to conduct Ultraviolet disinfection of rooms and areas. 6. Ability to explain to patients visitors, and staff the technology being used and how it will benefit them 7. Involved in patient room "Picture Perfect" set-up in preparation for admission 8. Practices effective time management and productive use of assigned technologies 9. Maintain all equipment in safe working condition 10. Carry out routine and emergency repairs on site on equipment as required 11. Generate and maintain usage reports for technologies 12. Report usage to Department Director as scheduled 13. Maintain maintenance logs for technology equipment 14. Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. 15. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Required or GED Required and Associate Degree Required or two years of college or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Required Computer and technology proficient Preferred The associate is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance, and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to healthcare environment. Must have the ability to write legibly and have the ability to follow written and oral instructions. Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment. Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and execute multiple tasks. Requires the ability to concentrate on fine detail, with interruptions, while attending tasks. Must be able to understand and relate to theories behind related concepts. May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital's SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital's Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access).
