Job Description
Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a fulfilling opportunity serving students and staff as a school psychologist in the vibrant communities surrounding Arlington Heights, IL, with primary duties near Franklin Park. This contract position runs from August 10, 2026, through May 22, 2027, with the first day for students beginning August 12. You'll work full-time, Monday through Friday, totaling 35 hours each week. Your schedule will primarily center on a middle school, with three days onsite, while the remaining two will be spent supporting a nearby K-2 campus. Bring your expertise to a pivotal support role where your skills conducting observations and evaluations—both initial and re-evaluations—are essential. Expect to manage 30-40 evaluations over the academic year. You'll also play a key part in assisting with behavior intervention plans (BIPs), collaborating closely with special education teams to create effective strategies and supports tailored to student needs.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with school psychologist endorsement in Illinois Demonstrated background in developing and implementing BIPs Strong history of working alongside special education teams Experience conducting a variety of student evaluations Effective communication and teamwork skillsResponsibilities:
Perform psychoeducational assessments and re-evaluations Conduct classroom and student observations Develop, implement, and monitor BIPs in collaboration with special education staff Serve as a resource for intervention strategies across grade levels Maintain detailed, timely evaluation documentation Support positive student outcomes in both primary and middle school settings This role offers a competitive hourly range of $54 to $60, reflecting your specialized skills and vital contributions.
