Job Description
Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Take your expertise in school psychology to transform students' lives in the supportive suburbs west of Chicago. This full-time contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 academic year offers a dynamic split between a middle school and a K-2 campus. The position begins August 10, 2026, with your primary focus at the middle school (three days/week) and two days working with early elementary students. As an essential member of the education team, you'll engage in comprehensive observation, evaluation (initial and re-evaluations), and data-driven consultation. Your skills will also be called on to support the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIPs), working in close collaboration with special education professionals. Across the school year, you'll conduct approximately 30-40 evaluations, playing a pivotal role in student assessment and intervention planning.
Qualifications:
Valid PEL endorsement as a School Psychologist in Illinois is required Demonstrated experience with BIPs and multi-tiered systems of support Previous collaboration with special education teachers, social workers, and other providers Strong background in conducting and documenting psychoeducational evaluations Exceptional communication, consultation, and organizational skillsResponsibilities:
Lead and document initial and re-evaluations of students per school and state guidelines Develop, implement, and monitor data-driven Behavior Intervention Plans Collaborate regularly with teachers and special education teams for student support Perform classroom observations and provide actionable feedback for intervention strategies Contribute to a positive, inclusive school climate Compensation for this role is between $54 and $60 per hour, making it a rewarding opportunity to build your career close to home or in vibrant nearby suburbs.
