Job Title:
Associate Scientist Job Description We are seeking an Associate Scientist to join our lab in Thousand Oaks. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring a 40-hour work week with core hours from 10 AM to 4 PM. The role is designed for individuals with a strong background in mammalian cell culture and recombinant protein expression, aiming to contribute significantly to our production pipeline in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Perform experiments and organize data under minimal supervision. Monitor or follow established protocols and perform routine productions to obtain reproducible results. Plan, conduct, analyze, and record experiments, providing data interpretation. Engage in scientific discussions with coworkers and communicate data effectively to the work group. Utilize standard laboratory tissue culture and automation equipment proficiently. Troubleshoot mammalian expression experimental difficulties. Contribute to internal and external reports and presentations. Coordinate and organize resources needed for the full protein production process. Understand when to seek input and when to make independent judgments. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or Analytical Chemistry with 2 years of industry experience. Master's degree acceptable with no more than 1 year of relevant experience. Practical experience in a biopharmaceutical working environment. Proficiency in aseptic techniques. Experience with recombinant protein expression. Experience with CHO or HEK cell cultures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture. Strong aseptic technique. Ability to learn quickly and collaborate effectively across teams. Automation experience is a plus but not required. Work Environment The position is based in a laboratory environment in Thousand Oaks. Candidates must be able to work onsite daily and have a target commute of 1 hour. The role involves variability in the lab schedule with morning-heavy work. The team values a collaborative culture, and training will be provided for automation tasks if needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Thousand Oaks, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
