working in Awendaw, South Carolina, for the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. This is a Temporary Not to Exceed 1039 hours position. Duties Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Participates in multifaceted wildlife, fish and avian population studies. Collects avian morphometric data and biological scientific samples Identifies and collects plant species for studies. Assists in collecting data on hatchery populations, Assists with maintenance repairs of tools and equipment. Requirements Conditions of employment Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship. Qualifications Qualifications:

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-09/04/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Minimum Qualification Requirements :

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications: One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-04 in the Federal service.

Specialized experience may include:

assisting with wildlife population or habitat surveys, capturing, handling, and tagging a variety of wildlife; assisting with native and invasive plant surveys and invasive species treatments, Capturing fish for fish sampling; collecting water quality data; data collection and recording. OR Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with major study or at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as such as biology, chemistry, statistics, entomology, animal husbandry, botany, physics, agriculture, or mathematics. At least 6 semester hours of courses must have been directly related to the position to be filled. OR A combination of education and experience as described in 1 and 2 above which together equals 100% of the requirement
