Job Summary:

Seeking a hands on Scientist to support small scale CHO cell line development and characterization for biopharmaceutical development programs.

The role involves end to end laboratory workflows including transfection, selection, screening, single cell cloning, culture expansion, and cell banking.

The position combines cellular and molecular biology with analytical characterization to develop optimized CHO cell lines.

The ideal candidate enjoys substantial laboratory work and can work effectively in a collaborative research environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform hands on CHO cell line development and characterization studies.

Execute transfection, selection, high throughput screening, and cell culture workflows.

Perform single cell cloning and expand selected cell lines.

Generate and maintain master and working cell banks.

Perform DNA and RNA extraction and molecular characterization using PCR, qPCR, and or ddPCR.

Operate laboratory instruments including Octet and flow cytometers.

Analyze experimental data and maintain accurate records in electronic laboratory notebooks.

Collaborate with cross functional teams to support cell line development projects.

Required Qualifications:

At least 1 year of hands on CHO cell culture or CHO cell line development experience preferred.

Hands on mammalian cell culture experience, preferably with suspension cells.

Experience with small scale cell culture using 96 well plates, 24 well plates, spin tubes, or small volume cultures.

Experience with CHO cell line development activities including transfection, selection, single cell cloning, screening, culture expansion, or cell banking.

Octet experience is highly important.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related scientific field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Flow cytometry experience.

ddPCR experience, particularly Bio Rad ddPCR.

PCR and qPCR experience.

Next generation sequencing experience.

Fed batch experience.

High throughput screening experience.

Automated cell imaging experience.

ViCell experience.

ambr15 experience.

HPLC experience.

Experience with small scale CHO development rather than large scale bioreactor manufacturing.
