Charles River is seeking a Technician II - Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) to support laboratory testing services in a GMP-regulated environment. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in molecular biology, DNA/RNA analysis, PCR, library preparation, and next generation sequencing. Under direct supervision, you will perform laboratory procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and support a variety of sequencing-related projects. What You'll Do Perform laboratory activities related to Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) testing services. Prepare reagents, buffers, media, and chemical solutions according to established procedures. Utilize aseptic techniques and work within biological safety cabinets. Culture and manipulate bacteria, yeast, viruses, and mammalian cell lines. Isolate and analyze DNA and RNA samples. Perform molecular biology techniques, including: PCR Library preparation Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Maintain laboratory equipment and support routine laboratory operations. Accurately document laboratory activities in compliance with cGMP requirements. Analyze, summarize, and report experimental results. Prepare routine GMP documentation and reports. Follow SOPs, standard testing methods, and company quality guidelines. Maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment. Assist with training team members on established laboratory procedures. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, or a related scientific discipline 1 to 2 years of laboratory experience in a biological, molecular biology, genomics, or biotechnology setting Experience with DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, or other molecular biology techniques Strong attention to detail and documentation skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications Experience with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows Knowledge of cGMP regulations and pharmaceutical or biotechnology laboratory environments Experience with library preparation and sequencing protocols Strong communication and teamwork skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
